As a non-profit executive for nearly ten years, I understand the challenges and rewards of working in the non-profit world – which often times also applies to small businesses. There’s never enough money or time, staffing is always in short supply, and advocates can be difficult to nurture.
A few years into my non-profit journey, I realized our organization just wasn’t working. So, we switched it up. I asked 16 board members to vote themselves off of the board, created new opportunities for stakeholder engagement, and formed a leaner board.
The results? We could focus on our real work versus administrative tasks. Fundraising increased. Staff morale was boosted. New advocates joined.
I started mkw+co because I know other non-profits and small businesses face similar frustrations and I know it can be better. I’m passionate about problem solving, creating efficiencies, and dreaming bigger — all of which I bring to the table when we work together.
